Machine Introduction

The directional cooling tower is a specially designed type of cooling tower. Its unique structure and working principle make it play an important role in specific application scenarios.

 

In terms of structure, the directional cooling tower usually consists of a sturdy tower body frame, efficient heat dissipation packing, a powerful fan system, and an accurate water distribution device. The tower body frame is generally made of corrosion-resistant materials to ensure stable performance in various harsh environments. The heat dissipation packing is carefully designed to greatly increase the contact area between water and air and improve the heat exchange efficiency. The fan system adopts advanced technology and can adjust the air volume according to actual needs to ensure the cooling effect while reducing energy consumption. The water distribution device ensures that hot water can be evenly distributed on the packing to further optimize the heat exchange process.
 
  1. Working principle:
    • Counter-flow square cooling tower: Hot water is sprayed down from the top water distribution system. At the same time, air is sucked in by the fan from the bottom of the cooling tower and flows upward, forming a counter-flow contact with the hot water. During the falling process, the hot water exchanges heat with the air. The heat is carried away by the air and the water temperature drops. The cooled water is collected in the water collection pan at the bottom of the tower.
    • Cross-flow square cooling tower: Hot water enters the cooling tower from one side and flows horizontally through the packing layer. Air is sucked in from the side of the cooling tower by the fan and crosses the packing laterally to exchange heat with the hot water. The hot water after the cooling process flows out from the other side.
  2. Structural composition:
    • Panel: Usually made of fiberglass reinforced plastic and other materials, it has a smooth surface, beautiful appearance, corrosion resistance, and anti-aging characteristics, playing the role of enclosing and protecting the internal structure.
    • Packing: It is one of the core components of the cooling tower. Generally, two-way point wave sheets made of modified polyvinyl chloride and other materials are used. Its function is to increase the contact area and contact time between hot water and air and improve the heat exchange efficiency. The structural design of the packing can form a good water film and further enhance the heat transfer effect.
    • Fan: Provides power for the flow of air. The fan blades are mostly made of alloy aluminum sheets and other materials, with characteristics such as reasonable aerodynamic force, large air volume, high efficiency, low noise, and corrosion resistance.
    • Motor and reducer: Used to drive the fan to operate. Some high-end square cooling towers adopt more advanced drive technologies, such as external turbine drive, which can improve the stability and energy-saving performance of operation.
    • Water distribution trough: Made of fiberglass reinforced plastic and other materials, it is responsible for evenly distributing hot water onto the packing to ensure that the hot water can fully contact with the air and improve the cooling effect.
    • Silencer cover: Made of fiberglass reinforced plastic, with a cavity-type flame-retardant polyvinyl chloride film sound-absorbing material pasted inside, it can effectively reduce the noise generated by the fan during operation.
    • Louver: Located at the air inlet of the cooling tower, generally made of fiberglass reinforced plastic, it can prevent water from splashing out, make the incoming air flow uniform, and also play a certain role in blocking debris.
    • Water tank: Used to collect the cooled water. Usually also made of fiberglass reinforced plastic, it is equipped with an automatic water replenishment facility to realize closed-circuit circulation and direct water absorption.
    • Framework: Mostly a folded steel assembly structure, it has the advantages of good rigidity, light weight, convenient transportation and installation. After hot-dip galvanizing anti-corrosion treatment, its corrosion resistance is improved.
